Taxi crashes into clinic near 4-D shop

By Charlene Chua

SHE was walking past a clinic with her friend when she saw a taxi slowly moving forward towards her.

Then, Ms Lorlyn L, 25, a Filipino domestic helper, was stunned to see that there was no driver behind the wheel.

Her first instinct was to try to stop the Comfort Delgro taxi with her hands, but she decided otherwise, and got out of the way instead.

Said the petite Ms L: "My friend and I wanted to try to stop the car from moving further so that it wouldn't crash into the clinic.

"But when we went close, it seemed to be moving towards us too quickly, so we panicked and ran off in the opposite direction."

The cab continued on its way, and came to a stop only when it hit the clinic wall.

There were no patients there at the time.

The three administrative assistants in the reception area looked on in shock.

The incident happened around 1pm at Block 137, Potong Pasir Avenue 3.
