THERE'S a new disease going around here. It's called LED lights.
You'll find more LED lights on cars than in your lamps nowadays, no thanks to Audi's popularisation of daytime running lights.

They seem to have spread from the frontal headlights and under the sideskirts to the rear - licence plates.
Yes, it's a wonder how people can choose to fix bright and blinding LED lights around their licence plates.
Is it a form of disguising your licence plate after breaking a few traffic rules and going through the ERP gantry without paying? After all, a licence plate is supposed to identify your car.
They probably think those LED lights make them look menacing. A car with daytime running lights usually is instantly identifiable as an Audi. It also looks cool.
But Chinese New Year and Christmas are already over. There's no longer a need to dress your car to match Orchard Road or Chinatown.
We already have enough distractions on the road, not to mention illegally fitted bi-xenon lights beaming into our eyes from the opposite direction.
There are also a few motorcyclists who take it into their heads to decorate their bikes all over with LEDs. Were they part of the Chingay contingent?
We could probably designate it as the new bane of motorists, taking its place in our Hall of Bane - alongside foreign cyclists, carpark bullies and lousy drivers who can't park.
