MALAYSIA wants to borrow a panda from China, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the Malaysian Government hoped to see more Chinese nationals investing in special economic zones here, and had also requested the loan of a panda to be exhibited to Malaysians.

Syed Hamid was speaking to reporters after a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

He said Wen was interested to know more about the second Penang bridge project, a joint venture between the two countries.

?China is happy to work with Malaysia and considers us their good friend,? he said.

In the meeting, Syed Hamid assured China of Malaysia?s support for the ?one-China? principle.

> Nanyang Siang Pau reported that the Anti Corruption Agency (ACA) was investigating a state assemblyman in Pahang for corruption.

It said the agency had confiscated a Mercedes Benz belonging to the politician.

ACA director-general Datuk Ahmad Said Hamdan confirmed the case but declined to elaborate.
