A CHINESE national who stuck a mobile phone onto a toilet wall to film a woman in the shower was jailed for two weeks on Monday.

Jin Dong Long, 20, a work-permit holder, pleaded guilty to insulting the modesty of a 25-year-old woman in a kitchen toilet in Simei on Feb 14.

The woman, also from China, saw the cellphone, which was set in video mode, on the wall after her shower that evening. Her sister called the police.

Pleading for leniency, Jin asked the court to give him a chance and said he wished to continue working in Singapore.

He could have been jailed for up to one year or fined ,or jailed and fined, for the offence.
