PEKAN, MALAYSIA: An elderly couple was killed after their four-wheel drive vehicle plunged into Sungai Pahang in Kampung Mambang on Sunday.

A search has been launched for their four-year-old granddaughter Nor Sarah Syamimi.

OCPD Supt Abdul Aziz Salleh said Omar Md Amin, 71, and his wife Patimah Midon, 68, died on the spot after the vehicle driven by Omar hit a lamp-post before plunging into the river.

The couple were on their way home from an imam's house after attending a feast.
