Teen's truancy turns into 3-day rape nightmare

LITTLE did she know that her romantic tryst with her boyfriend would turn into a horrendous nightmare.

A 14-year-old girl agreed to spend three days at a holiday chalet with her boyfriend, after he proposed the idea.

At the chalet, this Secondary 2 student was raped by 10 men, including her boyfriend, over three days.

A source told Harian Metro that on 9 May, the girl had skipped school to meet her boyfriend.

She accompanied her boyfriend to a resort chalet in Alor Gajah in Malacca that day. At around 3pm on the same day, her boyfriend allegedly raped her.

He is then said to have contacted four friends, who arrived at the chalet and took turns to rape the girl.

Said the source: 'The next day, the horror continued for the victim before her boyfriend decided he should send her home.

'During her stay at the chalet, she was raped by five other men, including four chalet employees and a college student.'

The girl, the eldest of six children in her family, was also believed to have been sodomised.

On 11 May, the girl's boyfriend reportedly took her to a bus stop in Pekan Masjid Tanah.

But instead of heading home, the girl took a bus to Malacca Central, from where she bought a bus ticket to Muar in Johor to stay with a female friend.

And that was where her family found her last Saturday, nine days after they had lodged a missing persons report.

The girl then told her family about her ordeal and she was taken to a police station to lodge a report. Following that, the police's Serious Crimes Unit launched a major operation to hunt down the girl's attackers.

Nine suspects were arrested later. One person is yet to be nabbed. Those arrested are being held in remand for seven days to help in investigations.

If found guilty, each suspect faces 20 years in jail and caning.

National CID chief Zainal Abidin Kasim confirmed to Harian Metro that a police report was lodged and that nine men have been arrested.
