KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: As a father, he was supposed to care for his daughters. Instead, he chose to rape and molest them.

The 42-year-old soldier pleaded guilty in the Sessions Court yesterday to three counts of rape, four counts of molest and two counts of violating his two daughters aged 12 and 11.

This went on for two years and his caper only came to light when the elder daughter, now aged 14, complained to her school counsellor.

The accused, from Desa Tun Hussein Onn, was charged with raping the elder girl on three occasions between May last year and last month, molesting her in January 2006 and violating her sometime in the same month.

The father of five also faced four charges relating to the younger daughter.

Their mother only got to know of her husband's wrongdoing when he was arrested.

Assistant public prosecutor Jamaliah Abd Manap did not offer bail due to the seriousness of the offence, and the fact that the accused had pleaded guilty.

Judge Fathiyah Idris fixed Aug 7 for sentencing.
