Australian TV journalist Peter Gerard Lloyd was accused of three more charges on Friday.
The 41-year-old was charged a week ago with trafficking in a packet of Ice and possession of the drug.
He is further accused of taking methamphetamine, commonly known as 'Ice', on July 16, and having drug paraphernalia at a Mount Elizabeth Hospital room the same day.
The utensils he had were allegedly used for consuming Ice and ketamine.
Lloyd, New Delhi-based correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), was arrested in Singapore last week.
He was initially charged with trafficking methamphetamine to a Singaporean at a hotel this month. He also faces a second charge for allegedly being in possession of Ice at a local hospital.
These initial charges were amended on Friday, reducing the methamphetamine amounts allegedly involved, in trafficking to 0.15 gram and possession to 0.41 gram.
Lloyd has engaged another lawyer Hamidul Haq, in addition to counsel Tan Jee Ming.
The prosecution asked for a week's adjournment to consult the Attorney-General's Chambers.
Asked by District Judge John Ng where Lloyd is staying, Mr Tan said his client was temporarily staying with the Singaporean bailor, Mr Mohamed Mazlee Abdul Malik.
Lloyd, whose passport has been impounded, will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing Aug 1.
He is out on a $60,000 bail.
Swarmed by television networks mainly from Australia and foreign wire reporters, he declined comment and got into a cab with his sister and lawyers.
The new charges against him carry a punishment of between three and 10 years and/or a fine of up to $10,000 or $20,000.
If convicted of the trafficking charge, Lloyd faces between five and 20 years behind bars and five to 15 strokes of the cane.
