Tue, Aug 12, 2008
The Straits Times

Unemployed man Leo Kong Meng, 49, was jailed for 12 months on Tuesday for having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Leo, who was a casual acquaintance of the victim's mother, invited the girl, then a student, to his Yishun home after meeting her at a coffeeshop nearby. He had unprotected sex with her in his room.

Late that month, her school counsellor made a police report that her student was having 'some problem'. Leo could have been jailed for up to five years and fined up to $10,000.
