A FORMER lawyer was hauled to court on Thursday for conspiring with fugitive lawyer David Rasif and others to cheat banks into giving out housing loans in a cashback scam.
David Tan Hock Boon, 40, faces 16 charges of scheming with his then partner, Rasif, Goh Chong Liang and others to dupe five banks and Central Provident Fund Board into releasing higher loans between 2003 and 2004.
He was also charged with conspiring with Goh, Zurkifli Alang Noordin and others to commit forgery in resale transactions of HDB flats in March 2006.
