Hawker rep on lying charge

A HAWKER representative of the Marsiling hawker centre faces four charges of providing misleading information to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) about a National Environment Agency (NEA) officer.

Ho Cheng Lay, 56, had cast aspersions of corruption on Mr Lim Peng Siang, a manager at the NEA hawker department.

He had told a CPIB investigator that when the hawker centre was about to buy hats and aprons in August last year, Mr Lim, offered to get these items for free from Carlsberg beer.
