Gas explosion death: accident
Thu, Sep 25, 2008
The Straits Times

A GAS explosion and fire that killed 72-year-old Chan Fook Seng last August was an accident.

Calling it a misadventure, State Coroner Eddy Tham on Thursday said that there was no evidence that Mr Chan had intended to take his own life.

Investigating officer Tho Ah Song had earlier testified that gas had leaked from the old, worn-out rubber tubing that connected the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) canister to the stove.
