IPOH, MALAYSIA: A middle-aged couple's spat turned ugly when the woman repeatedly slashed her boyfriend to death at her house in Ipoh Garden.

Deputy Ipoh OCPD Superintendent Ibrahim Abu Bakar said Risham Abdullah, 63, was found dead with slash wounds on his head and body at about 5.30pm on Wednesday.

A bloodstained parang was found in the house and police have arrested the 51-year-old girlfriend.

"The woman, who is unemployed, also sustained some injuries during the scuffle," he added.

Police have yet to ascertain the cause of their argument and statements from the neighbours have been recorded.

A magistrate's court order has been obtained to remand the woman until next Wednesday.
