KUALA LUMPUR: Police believe the two armed robbers who were arrested following a car chase and a shoot-out last Tuesday were involved in the rape of a 17-year-old in Kepong earlier this year.
According to city deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm (I) Datuk Abu Samah Mat, police found equipment used to take drugs on one of the robbers during the time of arrest.
"However, we are still waiting for the urine tests results to confirm it," he said during a press conference at Kuala Lumpur police headquarters yesterday.
He also clarified that both robbers injured in the shoot-out were receiving treatment at Hospital Selayang and are in stable condition.
Items recovered from the the two included a Walter P99 semi-automatic pistol believed to be stolen from a policeman who was brutally slashed at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on Oct 13. -The Star/Asia News Network
