The Straits Times

A MAN who was facing a capital charge was given two months' jail on Thursday for hitting the victim with a plastic chair.

Tan Tian Sze, 41, was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal for murdering Mr John Vettamooto, 46, with his brother, Tan Keng Huat, at the carpark of Block 89 Redhill Close on June 9. Keng Huat, 35, is at large.

The court heard that the two brothers were angry after learning from another brother, Thian Chye, that he had had a fight with the victim downstairs.
