MUAR, MALAYSIA: A Peeping Tom escaped serious injury after he managed to flee from an attack by a group of about 20 men armed with iron rods, sticks and hammers in Parit Keroma near here.
However, his 60-year-old father and 33-year-old brother were not so lucky.
Both suffered injuries and cuts in the attack at their house at about 9.40pm on Saturday.
The attackers were believed to have come to the man's house to settle some matters related to a peeping incident involving him last week.
The man is said to have been caught red-handed while peeping at his female neighbour by her boyfriend.
Muar OCPD Asst Comm Mohammed Nasir Ramli said the attackers, in their early 20s, came in five cars and some rushed into the man?s house while others remained outside.
"Initial investigation showed the attack was due to a peeping incident last week," he told reporters after launching a community policing programme in Kampung Temiang here yesterday.
He said that police had identified the attackers and would detain them soon to assist police in their investigation into the assault.
On the community policing programme, ACP Mohammed Nasir urged villagers in Kampung Temiang to be on the alert for any criminal activity in their area.
"Villagers and people living in housing schemes in the area should join hands to conduct patrols, especially at night, to curb house break-in and robbery," he said, adding that those with information could call the police hotline at 06-9526222 or 06-9526001.
