A SINGER tried to dump almost 1kg worth of drugs in an attempt to dispose of evidence when police raided his Suria Damansara condominium on Tuesday night, Harian Metro reported.

The artiste, who sings in a popular group, was caught in the condominium with three girls.

According to a police source, a team from the Brickfields Narcotics Crime Investigation Department received a tip-off that a celebrity was involved in drug-trafficking activities around Damansara.

A police team conducted investigations at the condominium and found the suspect's two luxury cars parked at the basement.

When police entered the condominium unit, the singer, who is in his 20s, was seen running frantically to the balcony and throwing the box, unaware that another group of policemen was waiting below.

A check revealed that the box contained packets of ganja, estimated to be worth RM2,000. Police also seized RM15,000, believed to be the proceeds from the trafficking. The singer said he was preparing for a stage show and claimed he was framed.
