KUALA TERENGGANU: Two foreign women were arrested by police at a budget hotel here early this week for misusing their social visit pass to engage in prostitution. Also detained with them in the raid on Sunday night were three customers, a hotel worker and a 42-year-old man believed to be a pimp.
The women were from Thailand and Indonesia and were in their 20s.
State CID deputy chief Superintendent K. Manoharan said they were arrested in two separate rooms of the budget hotel by an anti-vice team from the Kuala Terengganu police station.
Manoharan said the women were currently being held at the Kuala Terengganu police station for investigation.
He said the three men from Kuala Terengganu were released after their statements were recorded while the hotel worker and the pimp were being investigated for being linked to prostitution.
