RAPISTS are said to be using a crying child to lure victims and police are asking any woman who had fallen for the trick to lodge reports, China Press reported.

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin was quoted as saying that the police had not received any such report.

He was commenting on a chain text message warning women not to take the crying child to the address given but to take him/her to the police station instead as this was a trick by a gang to rape women.

The message was purportedly from a police officer named ASP Suman Kumar from Bukit Aman's D-9 (serious crime) unit.

An officer from the D-9 unit said there was no ASP Suman Kumar at the unit.
