
SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 51-year-old man suspected to have robbed a 15-year-old girl along Stirling Road.
The man had, on the pretext of making a phone call, ran away with teen's mobile phone valued at about $400, and later assaulted her in the midst of a scuffle on Jan 12 at about midnight.
He was arrested at Henderson Crescent on Jan 15 at about 11.30 am. The 51-year-old is believed to be responsible for another case of snatch theft in Bukit Batok East on January 11.
If guilty of robbery with hurt, he faces a maximum of 20 years' imprisonment and shall also be punished with at least 12 strokes of the cane.
