SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who is believed to be responsible for a series of Outrage of Modesty cases in Tampines housing estate.
Between March 11 and 15, 4 cases of Outrage of Modesty were committed in a lift in the Tampines housing estate.
The male culprit would enter the lift at the ground floor and molest the female victim as she was exiting the lift.
Following the reports, officers from Bedok Police Division and Tampines Neighbourhood Crime Strike Force immediately conducted intensive ground enquiries and follow-up investigations to apprehend the culprit.
Their efforts finally paid off at about 2.20am on Sunday, when the suspect was traced and arrested in the vicinity of Tampines Central 1.
The suspect will be charged in Court on March 18 for an offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354A (2) (a) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.
If convicted, the suspect shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than 3 years and not more than 10 years and with caning.
