>KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - One has been described as Benazir Bhutto although she looks more like local actress Sofia Jane. Another is a fresh face against a heavyweight.
The third is not only a beauty but has the brains to go with it, too.
Nancy Shukri (BN-Sadong), Nurul Izzah Anwar (PKR-Lembah Pantai) and Haslinda Mohd Zerain (BN-Bukit Antarabangsa) are among the clutch of beauties seeking to represent their constituencies in either parliamentary or state seats.
Nancy is nonchalant about her demure "celebrity" looks.
"I take it positively... maybe, I can be a role model to some, especially women in Batang Sadong, in terms of how to present oneself as a woman," she said.
Nancy holds a law degree from Hull University, England, and a master of business administration degree from Ohio University.
Fresh-faced candidate Nurul Izzah is PKR's choice to take on veteran politician Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil for the Lembah Pantai hot seat.
Shahrizat is a looker herself.
Haslinda, who is contesting the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat against PKR's Mohamed Azmin Ali, is not only a beauty but has the brains to go with it, too.
The 34-year-old Ampang Puteri Umno chief, who was Affin Holdings' strategic business head, holds a master's degree in business, a law degree and a diploma in syariah.
But they are not the only candidates who are getting second, and third, appreciative looks...
At a glance, PKR's S. Kanageswari looks gentle but heads turn when this 27-year-old speaks.
Her power of speech and fluency in Mandarin is said to have attracted the hearts of many single male voters in their 30s.
