The Star

THE Singaporean founder of a fashion business with branches throughout the world threw a lavish S$2.5mil (RM5.75mil) wedding for his daughter, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

The daily, which did not identify the man, said the wedding was held for four days at various places in Singapore from Wednesday and a day each in New Delhi and Dubai, where the bridegroom works.

The daily said that the bride, Sunainah, and her husband, identified only as Alan, first met at a match-making session in the United States six months ago.

Among the guests at the wedding ceremony were Singaporean politicians, relatives, business partners and friends of both families from around the world.

The bride's father was also reported to have purchased first-class air tickets and rented 120 suites for six days at the St Regis Hotel in the republic. The bride's father also rented 60 luxury cars with chauffeurs to ferry the guests during their stay in Singapore.
