SHAH ALAM, Malaysia: Pas Youth will meet the Sultan of Selangor to discuss their threat to stage a peaceful demonstration at the Shah Alam Stadium if Ella and Mas Idayu perform at the Sultan of Selangor Cup on July 6.

Speaking after the weekly state executive council meeting yesterday, Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said he had an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who agreed to meet Pas Youth regarding the matter.

"It will be before the end of the month. I don't think we want to stop the diplomatic friendly match between Selangor and Singapore but it is a good idea for Pas Youth to have an audience with the sultan."

On Monday, Selangor Pas Youth submitted a memorandum to the menteri besar's office to protest against Ella and Mas Idayu performing before the football match.

Pas Youth chief Sallehin Mukhyi had said the performances were inappropriate for youngsters. He said the singers' dressing and image were not the norms of Malay culture.
