>SEREMBAN, MALAYSIA - A family in Jalan Rantau near here was robbed yesterday morning because the occupants of a house which the robbers had planned to rob were awake watching the Euro 2008. In the 3.45am incident, seven robbers armed with parangs decided not to rob the house they had planned as the occupants were watching a football match.

They then entered the next house through the back door. They tied up the 53-year-old-headmaster of a Tamil school, his wife and daughter and robbed them of their jewellery and cash.

Before driving off in the headmaster's Kia Spectra, the robbers told him that they had actually planned to rob his neighbour's house and not his.

Police said they were investigating the case.
