KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan is ready to be investigated on allegations that he fabricated evidence against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"Let the allegations be investigated. I will not interfere in the investigation nor comment on it," Musa said.

Anwar has accused the country's top cop of fabricating evidence against him in the much publicised "black eye" incident in 1998.

The former deputy prime minister had lodged a police report on Tuesday alleging that Musa, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, Dr Abdul Rahman Yusuf and the then investigating officer into the assault probe, Assistant Commissioner Mat Zain Ibrahim, had fabricated evidence against him.

Anwar believed the probe papers into his beating by the police concluded that the then IGP, Tan Sri Rahim Noor, was the perpetrator of the assault against him. This was following medical reports and statements from at least 60 witnesses.
Anwar charged that despite the medical reports and witness statements, the probe team had sought the services of Dr Abdul Rahman to come out with another report. This, he claimed, was done without the doctor even examining him.

Asked about investigations into the latest sodomy allegation against Anwar, Musa declined to comment as investigations were ongoing.
