A HUSBAND has been having sleepless nights because his estranged Pakistani wife has run away with one of their sons to Karachi.

Ashiq Ali, 34, claimed that this happened despite the Selangor Syariah Court granting him temporary custody of their two boys and had issued an injunction prohibiting his wife Nabila Hussain from leaving the country with the children.

Harian Metro reported that Ashiq was worried sick for the safety and wellbeing of their three-year-old son Amir Hamzah ever since his wife took him away in June.

He claimed that Nabila, 31, disappeared with Amir Hamzah while he was at work, adding that he had searched everywhere for them.

The couple has another son Azzam, six.

"Last month, I called my wife's family in Karachi and they told me that Nabila and Amir Hamzah are safely with them. I wonder whether there is any truth to that as her documents are still with me."

"It is impossible for her and my son to slip out of the country without any documents," he said.

Ashiq claimed that his wife had sent a text message, threatening to take away their eldest son.

Two police reports have been lodged so far.
