GEORGE TOWN, MALAYSIA: A drug addict was caught shortly after breaking into a house here yesterday.

The suspect, who was carrying house-breaking tools in a sling bag, bumped into a police patrol team in Jalan Teh Ewe Lim at 12.30pm yesterday. It was learnt that the 38-year-old had broken into the house 10 minutes before he was caught.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Gan Kong Meng said the man later led police to his rented house in Relau, where a range of stolen household items were recovered.

The suspect had burgled several houses in Bandar Baru Air Itam, Gan said. -NST
