NEA has a new chairman

MS Chew Khim has been appointed chairman of the National Environment Agency (NEA).

Currently NEA's deputy chairman, she takes over from Dr Simon Tay from Tuesday, said a statement from NEA on Monday.

Dr Tay has been the NEA chairman for the past six years.

Ms Chew is also the Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Tecity Group of private investment companies and the Deputy Chairman of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation.

She is active in community service and volunteers at a few non-profit organisations.

The Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Yaacob Ibrahim also appointed five new members to the NEA Board - Professor Lily Kong, Ms Saw Phaik Hwa, Dr Philip Choi, Mr Han Kok Juan and Mr Ang Hin Kee.

The five outgoing Board members are Madam Halimah Yacob, Dr Choong May Ling, Mr Wong Siew Hoong, Ms Loh Wai Kiew and Assoc Prof Lee Siew Eang.
