Open verdict on biker's death

A DRUNK jaywalker walked across an expressway and started a chain collision which led to the death of a motorcyclist.

State Coroner Victor Yeo recorded an open verdict on Wednesday on the death of security officer Rajoo Subramaniam Naidu, who was run over by a lorry along the Pan-Island Expressway on March 15. .

Both the jaywalker, Jeffrey Ching Fook Soon, 28, and lorry driver Meyyar Ramasamy, 27, whose vehicle ran over the 52-year-old, were named potential defendants at last month's inquiry into Mr Naidu's death.
