SUPERSTITIOUS Singapore youths are approaching geomancers to check whether a particular mobile phone number will bring them good luck.

Sin Chew Daily yesterday quoted a geomancer as saying that those who sought his services were either salespersons or business people.

"Besides the numbers being easier to remember, they also hoped these will bring them more customers," said one geomancer.

Another geomancer said he would ask clients for their personal details such as date and time of birth to determine their lucky mobile phone number.

A real estate manager, the daily said, did not mind forking out a huge sum to have the number 9988 for his mobile phone.

The manager, who declined to be identified, said he had been using the number for more than five years.
