TAIPEI, Taiwan - A 24-year-old policewoman, Lin Jia-hui, caught a scooter robber whilst she was patrolling alone on a police motorcycle on her first day of work.
Lin was patrolling en route to an escort assignment in Pingjin City, when she saw a man, 27-year-old Chiang Po-sheng, dash across the road, push a woman off her scooter and ride it away.
Lin chased Chiang for 300m, rammed the scooter and caught Chiang.
The policeman who came later to support Lin said, "She's incredible. Never look down on the newcomers."
Her colleagues expressed pride in the 160 cm tall new recruit who single-handedly tackled a 180 cm man.
Expressing embarrassment at the praise, Lin said she did not think much at the time, but just did her job.
