IPOH: Police have seized 1,227 computers and arrested 104 people for running illegal gambling operations in Perak between January and February.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said police made 373 raids but only 96 of them were successful.

He said police had asked Tenaga Nasional Bhd to cut off electricity supply to the 96 premises as a prevention method as provided for under the law.

'A total of 19 premises have had the electricity supply cut off while action against the remaining premises is pending approval,' he said in a statement yesterday.

SAC Mohd Dzuraidi urged the public to provide information on illegal computerised gambling activities to the police.
