Boy, 10, earns $1,155 by doing chores during CNY period
Thu, Feb 25, 2010
The Star/Asia News Network

Sin Chew Daily reported that a 10-year-old boy earned RM2,786 from his grandmother by doing household chores during the Chinese New Year period.

Guo Lu Lu from Xian, China, used to be scolded by his mother for being lazy.

However, he became very diligent during the festive period when he was offered a "salary" by his grandmother for mopping the floor, washing dishes and doing the laundry.

His grandmother believes that such a practice can encourage her grandchild to earn money through hard work.

But Guo's mother thinks it would spoil her child, the newspaper said.

"I am worried that if we do not pay him in the future, he will refuse to do housework," she said.
