GEORGE TOWN: Three-year-old Alicia Khaw has been getting up in the middle of the night calling out for Miller, the family's seven-year-old Shih-Tzu that went missing.
Her father Michael, 37, said yesterday that his only child cries each time she sees photographs of Miller and has been having dreams about it.
"Yesterday when her babysitter's daughter showed her pictures of Miller which appeared in a Chinese daily, she cried non-stop and ended up vomiting before dozing off," said Michael.
The businessman said Miller had wandered out of their house in Irrawaddy Road about noon on Feb 21 when the front gate was open.
He said Miller, which has a white, brown and black coat and a scar on his left back leg was last seen walking along a road off Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah that after noon.
Michael got Miller as a wedding anniversary present for his wife May Chong Chooi Hoon, 37, about seven years ago.
"My wife too has been crying almost daily since Miller went missing and my father-in-law Chong Tat Sing, 75, is also taking it very badly because the dog sleeps in his room.
"We launched a massive search for Miller by putting up pictures of the dog on Facebook and sending out e-mails to friends and acquaintances."
Michael added that some of his friends and business customers also helped by placing advertisements on giant screens in about 30 shopping malls, complexes and entertainment outlets here.
"Flyers and banners have also been put up in Air Itam, Kelawei Road, Macalister Road, Jelutong and Green Lane. We have spent RM2,500 so far printing the banners and flyers.
"We will be visiting the Air Itam market and Chowrasta Market this weekend to distribute the flyers and use a loud hailer to seek the public's help in looking for Miller. We plan to do this for at least a month," he said.
Michael is also offering a reward of RM1,000 to anyone who locates Miller.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the dog, can call him at 019-4727 295.
