APPLE fans worldwide are waiting with bated breath for the launch of the iPhone 4, but just how are application developers here gearing up for the new platform?
"We try our best to take advantage of these new technologies when developing our games. For example the iPhone 4 is coming out and it'll change from accelerometers to gyroscopes and as a result we can have more motion sensitive games," said Edmund Koh, Director of Personae Studios, Singapore's largest iPhone game developer.
With over 5 billion applications downloaded since the launch of the iPhone, it is no surprise that companies such as Personae Studios and even individuals like 17-year-old Sahil Lavingia are jumping on the application creation bandwagon.
Sahil created his first Application "Taxi Lah" when he was only 16-years-old. He has since gone on to create 3 more "apps".
His latest, "Dayta", was featured in popular magazine MacWorld, and earned him $250 in the first day of its release. Not bad for a teenager!
