Bye, Bye Mrs Tan
Fri, Nov 02, 2007
The Straits Times

OUTGOING Raffles Girls' Secondary (RGS) principal Mrs Deborah Tan said goodbye to her students on Friday, after eight years with the school.

Mrs Tan, 48, will move on to head the Singapore Sports School.

The school arranged for Mrs Tan to be ferried to school for a fanfare and a salute by the students.

Among the programmes introduced during Mrs Tan's tenure in RGS is the six-year integrated programme which sees students skipping their O levels and going on to Raffles Junior College to sit for the A levels.

Last year, RGS won the top award - the School Excellence Award - given out by the Ministry of Education to schools with exemplary management systems and excelling in providing holistic education.
