MARANG, MALAYSIA - Seventeen pupils of SK Gong Nangka were rushed to a clinic after showing symptoms of food poisoning yesterday.

This was the second such incident at the school since it was opened in March last year and the third in Marang since the 2008 school session began. All the 16 girls and a boy, who fell ill, went home after receiving treatment.

Year Six pupil Amirah Ramli, 12, said she had noodle soup and nuggets during the morning break at the school canteen.

"The nuggets smelled and tasted like soap. After having them, my stomach churned and I vomited," she said.
