RJC = geeks and no toilet paper: Dawn Yang

Ever wonder where life would have brought you to if you had made different choices at certain crossroads?

Star blogger, Dawn Yang, does.

In her latest STOMP entry, the vivacious lass shared her turning points in life.

Of school and geeks

"All the years in school up until I was 13, I was the epitome of 'guai-ness'. The pivotal moment came when I entered secondary school, and became acquainted with the dark side.

"I became one of the naughty rebels instead, the black sheep of my class full of hardworking students."

"It was a time of discovering fun, friends, fashion, boys."

The 21-year-old also confessed that one of the toughest decisions that she faced in her academic career was making a choice between Raffles Junior College (RJC) and Anglo Chinese Junior College (ACJC) after her O level results were released.

"I was in [ACJC] for the first 3 months, and had grown quite comfortable there...as part of their scholars programme I was basically a big fish in a small pond.

"Whereas if I went to RJC, I would be a small fish in a big pond. Big pond of big geeks."

In the end, our self-confessed "child at heart" chose to sit for her A Levels at RJC, where she did not have quite the ball of a time.

"My time there was decidedly quite awful I think, and the campus toilets never ever had toilet paper.

Potty woes aside, Dawn decided that some things were not so bad after all.

"I made some good friends, plus the recognition and respect you get as a RJ alumni is pretty darn good. It's all to do with Singaporeans and their elitism you see.... :)"
