NOT all classes during the holidays need to look like school.

There are many offerings that delve into more unusual activities, such as Mr Adam Khoo's "transformational" classes, where kids learn everything from communication skills, to how to keep motivated. And that means in their lives, not just in school.

According to Mr Khoo, author of Paving The Way To The Top, one reason students do not do well is "because they lack a strong and nurturing relationship with their parents and teachers". That's why his programmes focus on communications and "relationship mastery".

Then there are the classes which even adults might like, such as learning how to create a comic book. But let your child choose his or her course. Suggest a class that you know is in line with what they fancy so that it feels like play, not work.
