When students retaliate

Teachers are not the only ones who have been in the news for causing harm to students.

In a recent report on increasing teen violence in S'pore, a school psychologist cited the example of a 14-year-old student who snatched a school mate's iPod and walked off with it. When confronted, the student then smashed the iPod instead of returning it.

Still, when questioned by the Principal, he maintained he did nothing wrong and said he was simply "ridding the school of snobs".

More students these days are hauled up for violent acts of bullying and intimidation, according to Mr Danny Ng, counsellor who works closely with schools.

This is not an isolated case. In recent weeks, there have been increasing reports of teen violence surfacing in the news around the region. We highlight some of them.
