The Star

This article is an excerpt from a blog entry posted on 31 Oct, 2008, in The Star Online, one of Malaysia's leading dailies.

My son came home from school yesterday and told me that the answers to his English language paper 1 was given out earlier by his teacher on 28 Oct to the students in order for them to score high marks. He was not present in school on that day but despite that, he still scored full marks for the paper. Being a bright student he was very disappointed with his teacher's action.

I was utterly speechless because this was an act of idiocy. It was inconsiderate of her to do that just in order to get promoted and a raise in her salary. It's a cheap shot. She did not evaluate the consequences of her act towards the well being of her pupils. So the result all the poor students scored well without understanding anything. Above all its unfair towards the hardworking and smart students.

Its already bad enough that kids nowadays pay less attention to what they study in school but when teachers spoon feed them like this they are headed towards doom. My son is of the view that i should see his principal and complain about it so that stern action will be taken against the teacher and maybe they will be asked to resit for the paper. In his opinion English paper 1 sudah bocor.
