This is a follow up on the post I put on yesterday on 'quality educators in our education industry'. Many of our local young graduates today, both from local and foreign universities are taking too many things for granted.
Many think that the world owes them a living just because they have tertiary education. I would think that a person who is fresh would be humble and willing to learn but apparently this is a dying trend. Fresh grads nowadays think that because the world is their oysters they can do whatever they want to the oysters. They forget that everyone has an equal opportunity to be employed.
I really feel that 'attitude' takes up a large percentage of a good worker rather than 'aptitude'. Of course there is no denying that skills and knowledge are essential to perform in the workplace but when the attitude is wrong, the whole foundation collapses. In my working environment, majority are young graduates who have little working experience but still want to conquer the world.
Of course not denying that there are good workers around, I believe that there is always room to learn and improve as long as they are willing to be humble and accept changes. Come on some young people, time to wake up and understand that society does not owe you a living!
