I am sad and disappointed to have read that Samuel Wittberger, whom I consider a Eurasian, is not recognised as the top boy.
In any case, as Singapore prides itself on being meritocratic, we should not put race before results.
To me, it does not matter if Samuel has a father who is Caucasian. What is important is that his mother is Singaporean, as Samuel himself is.
At the same time, with more marriages between people from various countries, it may be better to use the term 'mixed-race' for the children born to them.
