All major Chinese dailies quoted New Era College principal Dr Kua Kia Soong as saying that he planned to sue the college's management team.

Sin Chew Daily quoted him claiming that the management had smeared his name by making false statements.

Acknowledging that a lawyer had offered to help him, Dr Kua said he had collected all the necessary evidence and might start legal proceedings by the end of the year.

Dr Kua was also contemplating filing a complaint against the college with the Human Resources Department.

A controversy erupted after Dr Kua's contract, which ends this year, was not renewed.
