Chinese educationist's resignation is hot news
Tue, Dec 23, 2008
The Star

CHINA Press frontpaged the story of Chinese educationist Loot Ting Yee who resigned as adviser for Jiao Zong and LLG Cultural Development Centre Bhd following sexual harassment complaints against him.

The daily quoted another activist Datuk Sim Mow Yu as saying that the younger generation should emulate Loot in his fight for the interest of Chinese education and not brush aside his contribution to the field due to this incident.

Loot issued a three-paragraph statement on Sunday saying he would not attend any public activities and that he wished to spend his remaining years quietly.

The allegations against Loot were first published in the newspapers when a female journalist complained about being sexually harassed by Loot in her blog post.

Other alleged victims then came out in defence of the reporter alleging that Loot hugged and kissed them on the cheek.
