Students are mall's top models

GEORGE TOWN, Malaysia: It was a memorable day for business student Belvin Ang Teik Lai and chemical engineering student Nurlina Abdul Mutalib as they bagged the Model Search 2009 awards at the Queensbay Mall on Sunday.

Ang, 24, was the best male model while Nurlina, 20, walked away with the best female model title.

Both defeated 18 other finalists to receive RM1,000 ($415.50) and prizes worth RM1,800, a trophy and a year's modelling contract with Queensbay Mall agency.

Nurlina also walked away with the Miss Hair Icon title.

Economics student Ooi See Nee, 22, grabbed the Best Runway award, while architecture student Myra Chen, 23, was the Best Cover Model.
