Govt hires candidate who best fits job description

I THANK Mr Jimmy Ho for his Forum Online letter last Saturday ('Treat degrees from all local institutions equally').

The public service welcomes graduate as well as non-graduate applicants who would like to contribute to the development of Singapore.

Recruitment is based on merit through open competition. Candidates who have completed degrees or diplomas through full- or part-time study will be considered.

Beyond academic qualifications, relevant experience (if any), track record as well as personal attributes such as leadership abilities are also important factors to be considered.

In short, we will hire the candidate who best meets the requirements of the job.

Bernadette Sim (Ms)
Director, Personnel Policy
Public Service Division
Prime Minister's Office
