AT JURONG West Primary School, there was a simple rule.
No form? No entry.
Students had to queue outside the school as teachers checked their travel declaration forms, one by one.
When The New Paper visited the school at 7am yesterday, a long queue had already formed outside, with parents, guardians, older siblings and maids standing around until the students went inside.
The students, each holding a travel declaration form, were busy catching up with their friends as they waited for their turn to enter the school by a side gate.
Step aside
Some however, had to step aside, quickly filling up their declaration forms before rejoining the queue.
Some parents were also seen filling in their child's declaration form before passing it back to them.
The queue moved quite quickly and by 7.30am, most of the students had gone in.
Mr Yuen Nan Yeow, 51, a parent who took his 10-year-old daughter to school yesterday, was supportive of the precautionary measures that the school took.
He said: 'My daughter's teacher called me about a week before school started and I'm aware of the measures that the school is taking.
'The school is being very cautious and I know it's necessary to follow these precautionary measures.'
