Racial Harmony Day: Still relevant?
Fri, Jul 24, 2009
The Straits Times

Yes, it's vital

THERE should be no complacency about racial harmony. Singaporeans should pursue cordial relations among different races.

In celebrating Racial Harmony Day, schools encourage students to don the cultural attire of other races. But racial harmony is more than this. The pursuit of cordial race relations must start in school. The Ministry of Education and schools should be proactive and help students understand the importance of strong racial ties.

With hard work and great leaders, authentic racial harmony will be secured - not today but I hope in the near future.
